Scherr’s Seed LLC was started in 2003 by Steven and Kris Scherr. They have expanded every year and are continuing to grow. Steve first started with AgVenture in 2002 when he started with Keltgen Inc. He worked for Keltgen for one year when Steve and Kris purchased their own regional seed company. AgVenture/Scherr’s Seed LLC was started on a small farm just 7 miles west and 1 mile South of Roscoe, with 7 Sales Reps. 
With Steve as the President and a major Sales Rep for the company, and Kris as the Office Manager/Secretary, they have grown into what they are today. Steven now has 41 Sales Reps, 2 Agronomists, a District Manager and a Product Manajor while Kris has 4 Office Secretaries. Steve and Kris built a new facility in the summer of 2008. It gives them room to house seed and treat corn with Quick Roots, Avitec (pheasant repellent), and treat and inoculate soybeans with inoculation that lasts 120 days then shipped out to customers all ready to be seeded. This new facility is located 7 miles West of Roscoe, SD on the North side of the road
